In 2007, Gary Pike finally took the plunge and developed a full business plan for an idea he had for several years to design and manufacture portable sifters used to sort materials such as aggregates, topsoil, asphalt, backfill, mined materials, compost, recycled materials, mulches and any other bulk item which require classification based on size. The portable sifter, called the Nifty Sifter, is a box-type screen plant enclosed on three sides with a vibrating screen deck where material is loaded. Depending on the size of the screen, the desired material falls into the enclosure and the larger material is disposed of on the other side.
In 2008, Gary presented his idea to the CBDC Trinity Conception and Rock Manufacturing Inc. was officially launched. Since inception, sales have been very positive across the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and in 2010, Gary decided to expand the company
with the addition of a larger model of the Nifty Sifter.
Rock Manufacturing Inc. employs Gary fulltime and one additional employee on a seasonal basis. CBDC Trinity Conception is happy to be supporting this venture and is very pleased with the success being demonstrated by this corporation to date. Well done, Gary! |
