The Entrepreneurial Opportunities Program is a provincial government initiative sponsored by the Department of Human Resources, Labor, and Employment. CBDC Trinity Conception in partnership with Metro Business Opportunities delivers the EOP program to clients on the Baccalieu Trail. CBDC Trinity Conception acts as a liaison between the client and Metro Business Opportunities, and this partnership has been very successful.
What does the EOP Program provide?

The opportunity for a client who is currently receiving income support to start their own business.

Financing of a fully repayable loan to a maximum of $3,000 to cover some of the cost associated with starting a business.

Interest rate of only prime.

Flexible repayment term of 3 years.

The opportunity to maintain income support for the first 52 weeks of the business.

Receive a monthly placement support allowance in addition to regular income support benefits.

Be eligible for child care benefits.

On going business counseling and support from a business development officer on the Baccalieu Trail as well as a business development officer in St. John’s.

Approved EOP participants will receive general business training through seminars and individual counseling in areas such as bookkeeping, marketing, and general administration.
